How is our school different? By bringing together the East Tampa community with the best of what years of scientific research tells us about how young minds learn, we’ve created an engaging environment, effective instructional approaches, and an improved curriculum to foster a love for learning that will make a measurable impact for our children and community!

As a science-based nonprofit, the Evolution Institute believes that diversity and cooperation are essential for success. That’s why we’ve been working with community partners, churches, civic associations, the school district, Children’s Board, the United Way and others to create the East Tampa Academy. The school uses an evidence-based approach to help children develop the social, emotional, and academic skills they need to succeed. Our team of scientific advisors include leading experts in early learning, early literacy, and math education. They have advised Presidents, as well as helped develop the academic standards used by many states.

Instead of an 80% failure rate that at least one area school is experiencing, the East Tampa Academy will graduate students who perform at or above grade level. Many are expected to advance to other Tampa public schools where they will arrive prepared for the rigors of traditional education and standardized assessment, and a foundation to a successful future!
